Position Overview

The Grinder is responsible for grinding, smoothing, and finishing metal parts to required specifications using table-mounted grinding equipment. This Grinder role supports production operations by ensuring components meet dimensional and quality standards. The ideal Grinder candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fabrication or machining environment.

Required Experience & Skills

• 1+ years of experience operating grinding equipment or working in a fabrication or machining environment
• Ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, and grinding machinery
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production drawings
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate table-mounted grinding equipment to remove excess material and smooth metal surfaces
• Inspect workpieces for defects and dimensional accuracy
• Measure parts using precision tools such as calipers and micrometers
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to determine grinding specifications
• Select appropriate grinding wheels, tools, and attachments based on materials and requirements
• Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to maintain production efficiency and quality
• Document production activities and quality checks

Preferred Experience

• Previous metal fabrication, machining, or grinding experience preferred
