Position Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for moving and staging beams for shipment using a sit-down forklift in an outdoor work environment. This Forklift Operator role supports material handling operations by safely transporting large materials, assisting with positioning beams for loading, and maintaining an efficient workflow. The ideal Forklift Operator is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working extended hours with frequent overtime when needed.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven sit-down forklift operating experience required
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and equipment operation procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and kneeling
• Ability to stand or move for extended periods during the shift
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift to move and stack beams in preparation for shipment
• Assist with positioning beams for loading onto trailers (loading handled by another team)
• Support material movement using overhead or bridge cranes when applicable
• Maintain a safe and organized outdoor work environment
• Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures
• Assist with general material handling duties as needed
• Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors to support shipping operations

Preferred Education

• Previous forklift operation experience required
• Material handling or warehouse experience preferred
• Overhead or bridge crane experience a plus
• Bilingual abilities a plus
