Job Title: Production Worker – Skewers Department
Pay: $13.50/hour | $14.50/hour upon permanent hire with client
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Orientation: Begins Monday, June 9th at 8:00 AM
Location: Owasso, OK
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Position Summary
The Production Worker in the Skewers Department is responsible for preparing and packaging meat skewers in accordance with company standards and production specifications. This role requires handling raw materials, maintaining strict hygiene and quality standards, and supporting the continuous flow of production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare, assemble, and pack meat skewers by hand or with semi-automated equipment
• Ensure all products meet visual, weight, and quality specifications
• Follow safety, sanitation, and quality procedures (HACCP, GMP)
• Assist with setup and cleanup of workstations and equipment
• Operate simple tools or machinery related to the skewering process as needed
• Report defective products or equipment issues to the supervisor
• Support tasks such as packing, labeling, and maintaining counts
• Meet production targets efficiently
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)
• Previous experience in food or meat processing and packaging is preferred
• Familiarity with food safety, quality control, and hygiene practices is a plus
• Ability to follow detailed packaging instructions and company guidelines
• Comfortable working in cold and/or refrigerated environments
• Capable of functioning in a fast-paced, regulated production setting
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; verbal communication skills required
• Spanish language skills helpful but not required
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical requirements and work conditions include:
• Frequent twisting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand/wrist motion
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, as per company minimum daily requirements
• Standing and walking for extended periods on concrete surfaces that may be slippery
• Exposure to strong odors such as raw and marinated meat
• Climate-controlled environment ranging from -40°F to -45°F
• Hearing protection required due to noise levels in the work area
• Good corrected vision necessary for detailed visual tasks
• PPE required in production areas: hair/beard nets, rubber-soled shoes, smocks, hearing protection, and hard hats. No jewelry, piercings, fake lashes, fake nails, nail polish.
