Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fitter with strong MIG welding skills for a company that assembles and welds pole sections together. This role requires precision, heavy manufacturing experience, and the ability to work weekend shifts while delivering consistent, high-quality results. The Fitter must bring mechanical knowledge, accuracy with measuring tools, and the discipline to follow company and safety regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use and read welding measuring devices including squares, levels, and tape measures
• Select fabrication equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding procedures
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts in position for welding
• Set up equipment and weld parts using Arc, Gas-Shielded Arc, or Gas Welding equipment
• Assemble parts by bolting when required
• Repair products by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling parts using fabrication equipment (plate rollers, cutting machines, torches, etc.)
• Clean poles and welds as required
• Maintain accountability for tools and equipment provided
• Comply with all company policies, ISO Quality Program procedures, and state/federal safety regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of welding and 3 years in heavy manufacturing required
• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience with MIG welding and fitting processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layouts
  • Strong problem-solving and repair skills
  • Physically capable of performing heavy industrial work
