Position Overview

The Corrugator Operator I supports the manufacturing of polyethylene (PE) pipe by assisting with coiling, taping, stacking, packaging, and performing basic quality checks. This Corrugator Operator I role is an entry-level manufacturing position with training provided. The ideal Corrugator Operator I is dependable, safety-focused, and able to maintain production flow while supporting a clean and organized manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Install pre-cut gaskets on vacuum and spray tanks as instructed
• Verify proper coiler arm settings for required pipe diameters (28”–60”)
• Coil polyethylene pipe neatly and tightly according to specifications
Tape coils at four points with four wraps for proper securing
• Secure the start and end of each coil with color footage tape
Plug both ends of every completed pipe coil
• Inspect pipe for proper printing, labeling, and overall quality appearance
• Identify defects such as splits, scratches, rough ends, pock marks, or striping
• Maintain organized and safe pipe stacks within the production area
• Communicate non-conforming product or operational issues to the Shift Supervisor
• Place defective pipe in the designated regrind area
• Maintain a clean workspace from the extruder to the coiler
• Return tools and supplies at the end of each shift
• Participate in shift change communication to ensure production continuity

Preferred Experience

Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred

Training Provided

General safety and housekeeping standards
Basic defect identification and reporting procedures
PE pipe coiling and unloading procedures
Gasket installation and basic extrusion equipment operations

Protective Equipment (PPE)

Steel or composite-toe safety footwear required at all times in production and warehouse areas
Safety glasses required and provided
