Design Engineer
- Pay: $65,000–$120,000 per year (DOE)
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Overtime as required)
- Location: Sand Springs, OK
- Duration: Direct Hire
Position Summary
We are seeking a Design Engineer I responsible for Production Engineering of sold products. This role serves as the technical lead for assigned projects and provides engineering support for other jobs as required.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Lead Activities:
- Review and apply project specifications; summarize key requirements for design and fabrication drawings.
- Act as the primary technical contact for clients, including problem resolution and securing customer document approvals.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Welding Engineering, and Project Management to gather necessary technical data.
- Perform and/or verify design calculations.
- Create preliminary Bill of Materials (pre-BOM) for long-lead material orders.
- Work with drafting personnel to complete fabrication drawings.
- Review and modify fabrication drawings as needed.
- Provide technical support to Purchasing and Manufacturing.
- Organize and manage electronic records associated with assigned projects.
Support Activities for Non-Assigned Projects (as needed):
- Conduct design calculations.
- Review and verify fabrication drawings.
- Create or modify fabrication drawings as required.
Additional:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited university, OR
- Associate’s degree + 2 years of relevant industry experience, OR
- 5 years of directly related industry experience with progression to competency in essential job functions.
- Familiarity with ASME VIII Div. 1 design & construction and industry standards (preferred, but not required).
- Proficiency in RCS or COMPRESS design software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (preferred, but not required).
Preferred Experience
· Mechanical Engineering: 1 year
· Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Design: 1 year
· Pressure Vessel Design: 1 year
· ASME VIII Div. 1 Standards: 1 year
· Microsoft Office Proficiency: 1 year
· AutoCAD: 1 year
· RCS or COMPRESS Software: 1 year
