Job Description:
The CNC lathe setup operator is responsible for producing precision-engineered components through expert programming, configuration, and operation of CNC machinery, maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards. They meticulously document all production activities and oversee equipment and supplies to ensure smooth workflow. By analyzing work orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications, they strategize machining processes to achieve exacting precision, integrating geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Efficient management of stock inventory ensures optimal material availability through proactive ordering and assessment. Utilizing advanced programming techniques, they meticulously instruct CNC mills and lathes, implementing precise zero and reference points, and configuring tool registers, offsets, and compensation for peak performance. Mathematical and trigonometric calculations refine machining requirements to ensure flawless execution of part programs. They expertly configure machinery setups, including installing and adjusting chucks, tools, and attachments, and conduct precise tramming of heads and vices. Their expertise extends to facilitating seamless production flow by loading stock into feed mechanisms with precision placement for superior machining results.
