CNC Header Machinist

Pay: $23+/hr.

Hours: Day Shift 6AM-4:30PM Night Shift 4:30PM-3:00AM Monday-Friday some weekends

Job Description:

Responsible for Operating computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts, loading parts in machine, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools by performing the following duties.

Set up and operate numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and work piece on machine using overhead crane. Manipulate controls and enter commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine. Ability to start machine and monitor displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions.
Measure work piece for conformance to specifications. Stop machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications. Enter commands or manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
