Position Overview

The Class B Welder is responsible for assembling, repairing, and fabricating metal components using various welding techniques to produce high-quality, structurally sound products. This Class B Welder role requires the ability to read blueprints, interpret technical drawings, and perform precision welding in a manufacturing environment.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2+ years of welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
• Strong understanding of welding safety practices and procedures
• Experience with grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting materials
• Ability to perform quality inspections on finished welds
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• High School Diploma or GED required

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Class B Welder role includes:

• Perform quality welds according to blueprints and specifications
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting components
• Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
• Inspect finished welds to ensure quality and structural integrity
• Perform modifications, repairs, and assembly work as needed
• Monitor equipment and maintain proper operating conditions
• Support additional fabrication processes such as riveting and small part assembly
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Preferred Experience

• Welding certification from an accredited institution (preferred)
• Experience with aluminum welding or heavy equipment manufacturing
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and quality systems

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and handle materials as needed
• Frequent standing, bending, and working in a shop environment
• Ability to work in various welding positions and conditions
