Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Class B Fitter Welder to join a manufacturing team in Collinsville. The Class B Fitter Welder will be responsible for performing fit-up and welding tasks according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and ASME code requirements.

This Class B Fitter Welder position requires strong knowledge of MIG and Flux Core welding processes along with the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fabrication environment.

Weld Test Requirements

Candidates must pass the following test:

• 3G MIG & Flux Core weld on plate
• Downhill MIG root
• Uphill Flux Core fill and cap

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Class B Fitter Welder role includes:

• Prepare parts and tools for welding and fit-up activities
• Perform welding using FCAW and GMAW processes when directed by the supervisor
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine welding specifications
• Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures and other measuring tools
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and fabrication tools
• Use powered and manual hand tools during fabrication tasks
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
• Work overtime or weekends as required by production needs

Required Qualifications

• Experience with MIG and Flux Core welding processes
• Knowledge of ASME code requirements
• Ability to read blueprints and welding specifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to operate welding equipment and fabrication tools safely
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
