Job Title: Certified Welding Instructor
Pay: Negotiable (Based on Experience)
Hours:
• Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (One-hour lunch break)
• Early shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Late shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Occasional "All Hands-on Deck" situations may require off-hours availability for emergency projects

Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking a Certified Welding Instructor to join our Welding Division in Tulsa. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, hands-on welding knowledge, and a commitment to delivering high-quality training and assessment. The instructor will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of weld testing, maintaining a productive relationship with both clients and candidates, and assisting in staffing operations.

Primary Duties

This list represents essential duties but is not exhaustive of everything you’ll be trained to do.

  • Serve as a liaison between temporary employees and Stand-By Personnel Welding clients
  • Cut and bevel plates for welding tests
  • Perform visual inspections on welded plates for quality and compliance
  • Continuously improve welding test procedures and techniques
  • Verify welder qualifications and maintain accurate testing records
  • Oversee safety practices in the weld shop and ensure proper use of PPE
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
  • Establish and maintain positive client relationships
  • Enter scheduling information into the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Maintain and document associate work records and personnel files
  • Answer phones and respond to inquiries using professional telephone etiquette
  • Attend career fairs, networking events, and represent the company as needed
  • Assist with public relations and community engagement
  • Maintain your State Weld Testing Certification
  • Order and manage welding shop supplies and inventory
  • Identify and resolve project-related issues and assist where needed within your role

Ongoing Responsibilities

  • Perform all job functions accurately without close supervision
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations
  • Communicate regularly with associates and clients to evaluate service quality
  • Collaborate with other staffing coordinators to ensure best-fit candidate placement
  • Respond effectively in high-pressure situations and emergencies
  • Report employee concerns, resignations, or conflicts to appropriate leadership
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, orientations, and disciplinary actions
  • Maintain and update candidate availability and schedules

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills; ability to work with individuals of varying skill levels
  • Own reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current vehicle insurance
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Windows and Internet research
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Deep knowledge of welding techniques, processes, verbiage, and safety standards
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in testing and reporting
  • Hands-on experience in MIG, TIG, and Flux Core welding on steel and aluminum materials
