Position Overview
The Avionics Technician supports aircraft maintenance and aerospace production by assisting with the installation, testing, and repair of avionics systems. This Avionics Technician role is ideal for candidates with foundational knowledge in avionics, electrical systems, or electronics who are looking to build a long-term career in the aviation industry.
Working under experienced technicians, the Avionics Technician will gain hands-on experience with aircraft systems while supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance with aviation safety standards.
Required Experience & Skills
• Associate’s degree or certification in Avionics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering (Bachelor’s preferred)
• 0–2 years of related experience including internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level roles
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Familiarity with wiring systems and basic circuit analysis
• Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, or similar diagnostic tools
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist with installation, testing, and repair of avionics systems including navigation, communication, and flight control equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic components using diagnostic tools
• Inspect wiring, harnesses, and avionics hardware for compliance with FAA/EASA standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and inventory records
• Support preventive maintenance and routine aircraft service tasks
• Participate in on-the-job training to develop avionics troubleshooting and repair skills
• Follow all safety procedures and quality assurance protocols
Preferred Experience
• Exposure to avionics platforms or aircraft electronics systems
• Introductory knowledge of RF technologies or digital electronics
• Certification in soldering or wiring practices
• Strong communication and documentation skills
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights when required
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends
