Position Overview
The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling industrial equipment and components in a manufacturing environment with moderate supervision. This Assembly Technician role involves interpreting schematics, working with heavy equipment, and supporting production processes while maintaining quality and safety standards. The ideal Assembly Technician has hands-on assembly experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required Experience & Skills
• 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, general arrangements, and P&ID drawings • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication processes • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math • General knowledge of rigging and lifting procedures • Ability to operate or learn hoists, cranes, and lifting equipment • Capability to perform tack welding (preferred) • Strong teamwork skills and ability to contribute to process improvements • Ability to communicate effectively in English • Physically capable of standing for long periods and performing bending, lifting, climbing, and reaching • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Assemble industrial equipment and major components • Interpret and apply schematic diagrams and technical drawings • Assist with installation of various system components • Operate hoists, cranes, and lifting equipment safely • Use hand and power tools to complete assembly tasks • Perform tack welding as needed • Complete safety, production, and quality documentation • Maintain a clean and organized work environment • Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement efforts • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
