Responsibilities:
Direct Activities:( Only Male Candidate)
* Timely and right execution of product development activities including formulation development, supporting pilot & plant trials, sensory evaluation, improving nutritional content or flavour, creating healthier product lines i.e., products with less fat or sugar, technology transfer and R&D documentation (specifications, protocols, reports etc.)
* Developing better ways to minimise contamination.
* Building prototypes and testing both in-house and on-site.
* Planning R&D activities.
* Product design, physico-chemical testing and analysing results.
* Devising ways to lengthen a product’s shelf life
* Devising ways to cut costs without reducing product quality
* Coming up with innovative ways to deal with scrap, spoilage and waste
* Optimize and scale up manufacturing operations for new products to support the growth of organization.
Indirect activities
* Feasibility studies of R&D project.
* R&D related information services including data collection and data maintenance.
* Project management of R&D activities.
* Financial management of R&D projects.
* Educated food scientists, operational, and FSQA associates on ingredient functionality, fundamentals of food
Formulation, and analytical chemistry
* Experience to work with NPD, HACCP, quality, regulatory in executing the ideas
* Coordinating and managing multidisciplinary projects, with colleagues from Quality, Marketing, external labs,
Vendors and suppliers
Skills Required:
- modify existing products and processes and develop new ones
- check and improve safety and quality control procedures in our own and suppliers' factories, from the raw material stage through to the finished product
- research current consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts
- select raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers
- prepare product costing based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable products
- audit suppliers or manage internal audits
- run trials of new products - either alongside or together with product development
- coordinate launches of new products
- deal with any customer complaint investigations or product issues
- compile, check and approve product specifications and labelling
- undertake long-term projects with other departments, such as reducing waste by improving efficiency
- work on packaging innovation and technology
- conduct experiments and produce sample products
- design the processes and machinery for making products with a consistent flavour, colour and texture in large quantities
- build relationships with suppliers and customers
- Ensure products are profitable.
- Collaborate with food production staff for quality, safety, labelling, production, handling, and distribution of food products
- Ensure that food-processing areas comply with government regulations and meet standards for sanitation and waste management
- Ensure quality and safety of food products, finding substitutes for harmful ingredients
- Develop samples/prototypes of new products
- Develop specifications for product production labelling
- Maintain accurate records to ensure smooth start-up for new product production processes
