The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at North Dakota State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position to start in August 2024. Applications are invited in the broadly defined area of Biochemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry or related fields. Appointment at the assistant professor rank is anticipated. Exceptional candidates may be considered at the associate professor rank.
Upon satisfactory performance this position is renewable and eligible for promotion to Associate and Full Professor. The position is 40% research, 40% teaching and 20% service. Resources will be provided for startup to initiate an externally funded research program. Modern laboratory space will be provided. This position is eligible for full benefits and paid faculty developmental leave.
Candidates must have: 1) An earned PhD by the time of appointment in Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution; 2) strong potential to develop an externally funded graduate research program; 3) commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; 4) demonstrated relevant and substantial research experience; 5) effective oral and written communication skills; and 6) demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion through engagement in teaching, professional development, or extra-curricular activities. Preference will be given to candidates with synergies that align with strengths of the Department, College and University.
