What Our Machine Operators Do Everyday:
Produces machined parts by operating a production machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and supplies.
Machine Operator Job Duties:
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Start machinery and make minor adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance.
- Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions.
- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards.
- Troubleshoot issues and perform adjustments within the scope of responsibility.
- Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Machine Operator Skills and Qualifications We Look For:
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility or similar relevant experience.
- Understanding of production and plant processes
- Analytical and numerical skills: the ability to perform mathematical calculations( add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to work in a team
