Job Description

About Us

QuEra Computing, Inc. is a Boston-based startup founded to develop the world’s most commercially useful quantum computing platform. We are a diverse group of engineers and scientists pushing the boundaries at all levels of the quantum information stack— from our neutral-atom quantum computing hardware, to our user-facing cloud API and portfolio of quantum algorithms. We are a quickly growing company (now numbering more than 30 employees), and will be launching our quantum computing service on Amazon Braket this year.

About You

You’re an experienced and confident software developer who enjoys working in a small, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team, where independent work and clear communication are equally valued. You have expert knowledge of Python and/or modern C++, are familiar with distributed processing, and feel at home with software development toolchains and paradigms. You happily engage in prototyping, testing, and refining your work in a collaborative environment. You like interfacing with hardware, and enjoy optimizing code stability and performance. You might not (yet) know much about quantum computing, but you think it sounds awesome.

About this Role

QuEra’s quantum control software is responsible for orchestrating the low-level functions of our quantum hardware, for executing users’ algorithms, and for enabling R&D that drives the growth of our technology. In this role, you will work closely with hardware physicists, embedded systems engineers, and cloud-facing API developers to continually update the control system’s requirements and architecture. You will develop and maintain core components of this system, frequently prototype new features, and interface it with new hardware. In this rapidly evolving field, you will help both to accelerate the pace of hardware development, and to make that hardware accessible to our partners and customers.
