Job Brief:

The individual in this role will be a highly motivated and experienced full-stack Photonic Engineer and will join our integrated photonics team. We are developing the most powerful and programmable quantum computers based on neutral atoms, and we need your expertise to build scalable, high-speed, and ultrahigh precision photonic chips for manipulating atoms and light.

Responsibilities:

• Lead tape-outs and/or bring-up of high-performance photonic/optoelectronic systems.
• Contribute to photonic device design, experiments, and control systems.
• Collaborate with foundry partners to advance the boundaries of photonics and quantum computing systems through iterative design-fab-test cycles.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to integrate photonic components into complete quantum computing systems.

Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or 4+ years of experience with photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
• Deep understanding and practical experience across PIC workflows, from simulation and layout to experimentation and control.
• Strong automation experience and programming in Python
• Passionate in one or more of the following areas: photonic design automation, large-scale photonics testing, photonic systems control
• Proven track record of innovation and accomplishment, demonstrated through an established publication record in relevant journals, patents, or products.
• High level of proficiency with layout software (e.g.,gdsfactory, gdspy, ipkiss and simulation software (e.g., Ansys Lumerical, Synopsis) highly preferable.
