Job Brief: As a Driver for Medicaid/DDD Approved Transportation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and compliant transportation of individuals receiving services. Your responsibility will be to operate vehicles that adhere to stringent safety and regulatory standards set by the State of New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. Your primary objective will be to transport individuals while maintaining a commitment to safety, accessibility, and emergency preparedness.
Responsibilities:
Compliance with Safety Regulations: Ensure strict compliance with all safety and licensing regulations outlined by the State of New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. Regularly inspect vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain proper licensing.
Vehicle Maintenance: Take responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of vehicles used for transportation. Ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition, conducting regular maintenance checks, and promptly addressing any issues or concerns.
Seating and Accessibility: Ensure that the vehicles' seating capacity adheres to the maximum capacity as determined by available seat belts and wheelchair securing devices. Maintain wheelchair accessibility by routinely checking and maintaining lifts and wheelchair securing devices.
Equipment and Emergency Preparedness: Equip vehicles with necessary safety equipment, including 10:BC dry chemical fire extinguishers, First Aid kits, and a minimum of three portable red reflector warning devices. Be prepared for weather conditions by ensuring the presence of appropriate tires or chains during inclement weather.
Requirements:
Minimum 18 years of age
Complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks, Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI) checks, and Central Registry checks
Valid driver’s license and abstract (not to exceed 5 points).
