Job Brief: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Career Planning Counselor to join our team. The role of a Career Planning Counselor revolves around an inclusive process that prioritizes the unique aspirations, personal preferences, interests, and needs of individuals to guide them toward their envisioned employment opportunities. At its core, the career planning process focuses on discerning the employment paths that resonate with the individual rather than concentrating on perceived skill gaps or limitations. The ideal candidate will employ a person-centered approach to understand individual preferences, strengths, and support needs.
Responsibilities:
Individual Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments using a person-centered approach to identify individuals' likes, dislikes, strengths, skills, and career aspirations.
Plan Development: Collaborate closely with individuals to design personalized career plans aimed at achieving sustained employment, increased wages, benefits, promotions, and overall career satisfaction.
Networking and Collaboration: Engage with individuals and their existing networks to explore creative methods and connections conducive to securing employment within their desired career path.
Resource Identification: Establish and expand a network of connections and resources that can offer assistance, support, and leads to facilitate employment within chosen career paths.
Plan Implementation: Develop comprehensive written plans to guide individuals in negotiating and meeting their career needs, providing ongoing support throughout the process.
Innovative Solutions: Propose and implement alternative approaches or strategies to address barriers and facilitate career progression for individuals.
Community Engagement: Connect individuals with community resources, support groups, and additional networks to enhance their career development opportunities.
Requirements:
Minimum 20 years of age
Complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks, Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI) checks, and Central Registry checks
Must be a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Professional Vocational Evaluator (PVE), Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE) or Employment Specialist
