Position Description

You will be a key part of Pani’s sales team, responsible for identifying and securing new customer opportunities across the IMEA (India, Middle East, and Africa) region. You will focus on building trusted relationships with key players in the digital water space—utilities, EPCs, consultants, and plant operators—while showcasing how Pani’s SaaS platform delivers value to water and wastewater treatment operations. You’ll collaborate closely with the Customer Success and Implementation teams to ensure that new customers are positioned for success, and that we are continuously improving based on regional needs.

About You

You have a passion for water treatment and have a clear understanding of plant operations and processes. You thrive in customer-facing roles and have experience supporting or selling digital or technical solutions in the water sector. You understand what plant operators and engineers care about and can speak confidently about treatment processes including desalination, biological systems, and membrane-based operations. You enjoy working with a smart, mission-driven team and want to use your talents to accelerate the water industry’s transition to net zero.

What You Bring to the Team

  • University degree in engineering, sciences, or relevant equivalent education and experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales or technical account management experience in the water sector

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of water treatment plant operations & processes, especially biological, chemical, membrane, and desalination systems

  • Domain Experience: Strong knowledge of the digital water ecosystem, such as SCADA, IoT, AI platforms, or SaaS applications applied to plant performance

  • Customer Insight: Ability to identify customer challenges and curate tailored use cases and demos that resonate with plant managers and operators

  • Communication Mastery: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey value propositions and technical details

  • Cultural Awareness: Experience working across the IMEA region, with sensitivity to local business practices and decision-making structures

  • Interpersonal Prowess: Must exhibit outstanding interpersonal abilities, fostering relationships with customers and internal teams alike

Responsibilities

  • Identify and build relationships with new prospects in the IMEA region, including utilities, industrial users, consultants, and plant operators

  • Lead customer discovery conversations to understand plant operations and challenges and introduce Pani’s platform as a solution

  • Conduct demos and technical discussions tailored to the specific treatment process of each customer

  • Own the sales process from prospecting to close, including CRM pipeline tracking and regular updates to internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Product teams to ensure successful onboarding and value delivery for new accounts

  • Provide ongoing market feedback to inform product development and strategic direction in the IMEA region

  • Support marketing efforts through event attendance, thought leadership, and regional content contributions

Nice to Have

  • Experience with B2B sales at any stage within the customer journey

  • Experience working for a SaaS startup

  • Multilingual capabilities relevant to the IMEA region

  • Background in chemical, environmental, or process engineering
