Job Description:

·         In order to be able to make more use of this data and to collect better insights from this data, a first version of a road safety monitor was developed.

·         This assignment includes the further expansion of this application, including the integration of additional data sources, the further access to a broad target audience and the linking of this monitor to the department's big data system.

 

Technical context:

·         This application uses the Microsoft BI environment that was set up by the MOW Department. This consists of the following components:

·         SQL Server 2017 EE

·         SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for the ETL

·         SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for the standard reports where the data is retrieved via queries.

·         SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for building cubes for use in Power BI and Excel files

·         Power BI on premise via power BI report server

·         Demonstrable experience in data warehouse modeling

 

Business context:

·         Our Client uses its own expertise and resources in the field of road safety to make Flanders safer for traffic and this in synergy with the expertise and resources of various partners.

·         The department focuses on concrete projects with a positive impact on road safety and forms part of a long-term vision. The department is therefore open to new trends and developments and is actively involved in research.

·         The department evaluates the implementation of road safety policy and formulates recommendations for adjustment.
