Job Brief:
ParkChirp is a commercial parking revenue management, financial reporting and yield optimization platform that was piloted in 2017. The platform has been expanded over the past 18 months, with key components rebuilt or restructured in response to customer feedback. The project team is now fully building out and enhancing key components of the platform to support a national rollout with a large, well-established client base. The Product Development Lead will play a key leadership role in that process.

Responsibilities:
The Product Development Lead will work directly with the founders/owners to design, articulate and implement the vision for the platform. The founders have deep experience in this portion of the commercial real estate industry, as well as strong and long-standing relationships with the core client base.

The Product Development Lead will ensure that the product matches business needs and supports end-user requirements through its releases.  They will also work with the development team to identify and resolve systems issues and conduct/oversee pre-testing of systems and quality assurance testing. The Product Development Lead teams with analysts, designers, and executives in the installation and testing of new software functionality, upgrades, and enhancements. They confer with network administrators and software engineers to ensure quality assurance, reliability, and scalability.  With support from the Technical Lead, they will also research and make recommendations on software products and services to augment the product platform. 

Most importantly,  the Product Development Lead will be responsible for the overall functionality of the product platform as well as all other aspects of the product rollout, including client adoption and success.  They are the primary driver to connect the business needs with the product functionality and ensure the initial product pilot success through to a full national rollout.  They will also develop and manage the product roadmap through the lifecycle of the product.  They will be the product evangelist, project manager and product owner with support of the development/engineering team, service team, and client(s) stakeholders.


Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
This role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, multi-tasking and organizational skills, problem-solving skills, leadership skills, and advanced computer skills, including the following:

  • Results-oriented problem solver and team leader who knows how to lead a team to success
  • Business acumen and experience as the primary project manager for a product build/launch in the technology/software space
  • Experience working directly with a client in the management and launch of a pilot through rollout
  • Significant experience working with and guiding the work of software developers in collaboration with the Technical Lead
  • Excellent project management, results management, and stakeholder management skills
  • Technical knowledge and/or education, strong understanding of development tools, languages, platforms and processes including: 
    • Experience with Nodejs and React is required
    • Experience with PHP would be preferred
    • Experience with Go would be preferred
    • Experience with GraphQL would be preferred

This role is Chicago based, and will be full-time and hybrid at the company's River North office with a minimum of 3 days on-site.
