Job ResponsibilitiesThe Mechanical Engineer will be assigned design projects for product modifications and new products employing steel fabrication, weldments, diesel, and gasoline engines, drive trains, hydraulics, and electronic controls. Products range from small hand-fed tree care chippers and stump grinders to very large industrial chippers, horizontal and vertical mills, flails, and sawmill equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute assigned design and development projects involving these technologies
- Provide technical support to sales, production, service, and operations to make and meet commitments
- Support manufacturing and update prints to provide configuration control of the product as it is built
- Pursue individual goals and objectives and contribute to the achievement of department goals and continuous improvement of department processes

Education
- BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience
- 1 to 3 years’ experience, (including internship and/or co-op experience)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machine design, mechanics of materials, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly
- Experience and/or training in engine components, hydraulics, sheet metal, fixture design, or failure analysis
Skills
- Proficiency in use of Solid Modeling 3D CAD, prefer SolidEdge
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to productively use MS Office software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Personal
- Unimpaired speech, hearing, and sight (continuous)
- Postural changes such as sitting, reaching, climbing, standing, walking, and lifting
