We seek a Tax Senior Associate who will review tax compliance engagements, tax planning, and tax provisions for both enterprise and individual clients, whether public or private.
As the Senior Tax Associate, your duties will include corporate taxation, consolidated returns, S-Corporation taxation, partnership taxation, individual taxation, estate/trust/gift returns, and state and local tax matters.
As a Tax Senior Associate, you will oversee client engagements from beginning to end, including planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects while effectively managing time and expenses.
Leading a team of staff-level positions and ensuring that assignments are executed properly. You will also be responsible for developing tax planning techniques for clients, addressing their needs, and exploring new opportunities for existing and potential clients.
You will be required to plan and coordinate various tax compliance engagements, including corporate, partnership, S-corporation, and individual tax returns.
Additionally, you will prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions, identify and document uncertain tax positions, and assist clients with managing federal and state tax audits, including negotiating tax positions.
Work closely with clients and their advisors, assist with individual, gift, trust, and estate returns, and review technical tax research, analysis, and written memorandums.
Manage projects and resource scheduling and management, deliver status updates to management and the engagement team, and participate in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention, and team-building activities.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. A CPA or Master's degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Our Ideal candidate should have 2-4 years of tax compliance and advisory skills.
- It is important that they have a good understanding of the tax laws at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Experience with tax preparation and research software is required. Knowledge of Go Systems, BNA Income Tax Planner, GoFileRoom, and Checkpoint is desired.
- Knowledge of reviews and preparations of all forms and schedules related to corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, individuals, and consolidated returns.
- Excellent tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance and consulting.
- Strong research and compliance skills are essential.
- Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role is required.
- Proven ability to work on multiple client engagements and adhere to tax deadlines.
- Excellent supervisory, organizational, problem-solving, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills are a must.
