Position Summary

Marion Manufacturing is seeking an experienced, driven Plant Manager to lead daily operations within our precision CNC machining facility serving the aerospace, defense, agriculture and heavy equipment manufacturing sectors.

This leadership role is responsible for operational performance, employee development, production execution, and continuous improvement across machining, quality, maintenance, scheduling, and manufacturing support functions.

The Plant Manager will oversee all day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensure the facility achieves key business objectives related to:
- On-Time Delivery
- Revenue Performance
- Quality Metrics
- Manufacturing Efficiency

- Safety & Compliance
- ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality System Compliance

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

·         Lead all plant operations including CNC machining, production scheduling, quality, maintenance, and shipping

·         Drive execution of daily production schedules to meet customer demand

·         Monitor capacity, labor allocation, machine utilization, and workflow efficiency

·         Develop and maintain a culture of accountability and urgency

Production & Delivery

·         Ensure customer orders are shipped on time and in full

·         Coordinate production priorities with planning and customer service teams

·         Identify and remove production bottlenecks

·         Improve throughput and manufacturing flow

Financial & Revenue Performance

·         Support achievement of monthly and annual revenue targets

·         Control labor efficiency and operational spending

·         Drive profitability through process improvement and waste reduction

·         Monitor overtime, scrap, downtime, and productivity metrics

Quality & Compliance

·         Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards and customer requirements

·         Support internal and external audit readiness activities

·         Partner with Quality leadership to reduce defects and improve process capability

·         Lead corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives

·         Promote FOD awareness and manufacturing discipline

·         Promote and maintain compliance with CMMC Cyber Security and ITAR Compliance

Continuous Improvement

·         Lead Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives

·         Improve setup reduction, spindle uptime, and workflow efficiency

·         Utilize KPIs and production data to drive decision-making

·         Champion 5S/6S and visual management systems

Qualifications

Required

·         5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience

·         Strong CNC machining and manufacturing operations background

·         Experience leading production teams in a fast-paced environment

·         Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems

·         Strong organizational and communication skills

·         Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling

Preferred

·         Strong CNC Machining and Engineering Background

·         Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience

·         AS9100 manufacturing environment experience

·         Experience supporting ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 audits

·         Experience with Epicor ERP systems

·         Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
