Operations Unpaid Internship – Canary Islands
Fund Size: €90M USD
Location: Canary Islands, Spain (with global impact)
Focus: Sustainable technology operations and European market expansion
Start: ASAP
Important Note: This is an unpaid internship. We don't cover accommodation, food, visa, or flights. What we offer? The chance to build skills that don't exist in textbooks, work on projects that matter, and live like the future leader you're meant to be.
What You'll Do: Optimize and scale operations for sustainable technology projects across the Canary Islands and Atlantic region, combining local island knowledge with global operational excellence to create efficient, sustainable business processes for waste-to-energy and biomass gasification implementations. You'll develop operational frameworks specifically designed for island environments and isolated communities, create supply chain management systems that account for island logistics and transportation challenges, and establish quality assurance protocols that work effectively in Atlantic island conditions.
Your responsibilities include designing operational workflows for island-based sustainable technology projects, developing vendor management and procurement strategies for Canary Islands suppliers and international contractors, and creating performance measurement systems that track operational efficiency in challenging island environments. You'll also establish project management methodologies for island-based installations, develop risk management frameworks for Atlantic weather conditions and logistical constraints, and create operational documentation and standard operating procedures for island operations. Additionally, you'll optimize resource allocation and scheduling for island project implementations, develop cost management and efficiency strategies for island market conditions, and collaborate with local Canary Islands stakeholders, government agencies, and communities to ensure successful operational execution of sustainable technology projects.
Required Skills:
Why It's Cool: Islands face unique challenges in waste management and energy production, and you're building operational systems that could serve as models for sustainable technology deployment in island communities worldwide while contributing to the Canary Islands' goal of becoming a sustainable energy leader in the Atlantic. The operational frameworks you create will enable island communities to achieve energy independence and sustainable waste management despite logistical challenges, making clean technology accessible and effective in some of the world's most challenging environments. This is where operational innovation meets island sustainability, where you'll be developing processes that could transform how island communities worldwide approach waste management and clean energy production. Your work will contribute to the Canary Islands' sustainability leadership while building expertise that makes you invaluable in the global island and remote community clean technology sector.
Canary Islands Option: Perfect island operations from paradise, where local knowledge meets global operational excellence to create breakthrough systems for sustainable technology deployment in challenging environments. Optimize island logistics with Atlantic views, develop operational strategies with your international team over beachside strategy sessions, and find inspiration for your process improvements in the resourceful, sustainable practices you observe in traditional Canary Islands communities. Solve operational challenges between volcanic explorations, celebrate efficiency breakthroughs with sunset dinners alongside fellow innovators from around the world, and experience how island life can enhance both creative problem-solving and operational resilience while contributing to your local community's sustainable future.
