Skills Required:

  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: These are the building blocks of web development and are essential for creating custom WordPress themes and templates.

  • PHP: WordPress is built on PHP, so a solid understanding of this programming language is necessary for customizing the functionality of a WordPress site.

  • WordPress development best practices: Familiarity with the WordPress Codex, as well as common development practices such as using child themes, custom post types, and custom fields, is important.

  • Database management: Understanding how to work with a MySQL database is important for creating custom queries and data management.

  • Responsive design and cross-browser compatibility: Ensuring a website looks and works well across different devices and browsers is an important skill for a WordPress developer.

  • Basic SEO and website performance: Knowledge of how to optimize a website for search engines and improve website performance is important for creating high-performing WordPress sites.

  • Git and version control: Use of version control systems such as Git are essential for managing and collaborating on code.

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills: WordPress development often involves troubleshooting and debugging issues, so strong problem-solving skills are important.

 

Daily Workload

  • Building and maintaining WordPress websites: Creating custom WordPress themes and plugins, configuring and optimizing the platform, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.

  • Writing clean, organized, and efficient code: Developing and maintaining WordPress codebase using best practices, and ensuring that it is scalable, maintainable and secure.

  • Integrating with other systems: Integrating WordPress websites with other systems and APIs, such as e-commerce platforms, CRMs, and social media.

  • Collaborating with designers and other developers: Working with designers and other developers to ensure that the website meets the client's requirements and is consistent with the overall design.

  • Optimizing website performance: Optimizing the website's performance, security, and basic search engine optimization.

  • Testing and debugging: Identifying and fixing bugs and other issues, and testing the website to ensure it is fully functional.

  • Staying up-to-date with new developments: Keeping up-to-date with new WordPress developments and updates, as well as new web technologies and trends.

  • Contributing to documentation: Writing documentation for the codebase and other project-related materials.

  • Collaborating with project manager, stakeholders and clients: Communicating and collaborating with project manager, stakeholders, and clients to understand their requirements, and providing regular updates and progress reports.

Compensation:

Starting Salary of: ₱18,000.00 Php to ₱35,000.00 Depending on your skill set
