Job Brief:

As a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Installer, you will be responsible for installing fiber optic cables and equipment for residential customers. This role involves splicing fiber at the pole and the customer’s premises, as well as performing inside installations. You will ensure high-quality connections and excellent customer service while adhering to safety standards and installation guidelines.


Responsibilities:

  1. Fiber Splicing:

    • Experience: Previous experience in fiber optic splicing and installation is a plus. For those without previous fiber optic installation experience, LightCastle Fiber will provide training on fiber optic loose tube splicing and on the job training.
  2. Installation at Customer Premises:

    • Install fiber optic cables from the service pole to the customer’s home.
    • Set up and configure Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) and related equipment.
    • Route and secure cables inside the home, ensuring a clean and professional installation.
  3. Inside Installations:

    • Install and configure routers, and other network equipment as needed.

  4. Customer Interaction:

    • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their service needs and preferences.
    • Provide guidance and support to customers on using their new equipment and services.
  5. Documentation:

    • Complete all required documentation, including installation records and service reports.
    • Maintain updated records of splicing and testing results.
  6. Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow all safety standards and regulations, especially when working at heights or near power lines.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety procedures at all times.



Skills Required:

  • Experience: Previous experience in fiber optic splicing and installation is preferred. (We will train on how to splice)
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of fiber optic splicing tools, testing equipment, and installation techniques.
  • Safety Awareness: Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions; familiarity with safety protocols.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills to address technical issues efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with customers.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work on ladders, and perform tasks in confined spaces.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. (Be willing to pass a drug test)
