Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Center Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center hardware design, implementation, and maintenance. As a Data Center Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and efficiency of our data center infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Hardware Design and Implementation
- Design, implement, and maintain data center hardware solutions to meet performance and scalability requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop hardware specifications and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot servers, networking equipment, and storage devices within the data center environment.
- Monitor and optimize server and network performance to ensure efficient operations.
Hardware Maintenance:
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on data center hardware components.
- Identify and resolve hardware-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with capacity planning teams to assess hardware needs and plan for future expansion.
- Provide recommendations for hardware upgrades and replacements based on performance metrics.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of hardware configurations, installations, and maintenance procedures.
- Create and update technical documentation for hardware systems and procedures collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware with software and network systems.
- Provide technical support and assistance to other teams as needed.
- Implement and enforce security best practices for data center hardware.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data center operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Center Hardware Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of data center hardware architecture, including servers, storage, and networking equipment.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud computing.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with hardware monitoring and management tools.
- Knowledge of data center cooling and power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies in data center hardware.
