Growing Company just outside of Rochester, MN has a need for a Materials Manager. This is a direct hire opening with a full benefits package.

POSITION SUMMARY

Through forecast planning, contract management and effective inventory control, the Materials Manager position is responsible for ensuring consistent, accurate and timely material availability for all Tandem process operations. This position is a key member of our leadership team and reports directly to the Plant Manager.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Monitors pricing and market trends to identify changes in relation to buyer-supplier shifts.
  • Maintains relationships and negotiates pricing with service, raw materials, and sub-contract operations
  • Directs responsibility in selecting and managing relationships and rate negotiations with logistics providers
  • Conducts inventory analysis and policy definitions to secure material availability against minimum inventory adjustments
  • Generates and publishes KPI’s for material management activities
  • Creates and maintains a SIOP process
  • Works with other departments as needed to ensure the department has accurate up to date work instructions, procedures and required safety trainings
  • Assesses, selects and develops staff within areas of responsibility
  • Oversees or has direct relationships with purchasing, planning, receiving, inventory control, shipping and logistics
  • Ensures team members are actively managed, motivated and trained.
  • Performs other duties as identified and communicated

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED

  • BS/BA with 3-7 years of applicable experience
  • Analytical mindset coupled with a strong operations/manufacturing skillset
  • Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Experience with fabrication and open cast molding a plus
  • Familiarity with build to order planning systems helpful
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Outstanding organizational and management skills
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
