Job Position: Estimator I
Job Location: Arvada, CO
Range of Pay: $50,000-$70,000 depending on experience

Job Description: Esimate the cost of construction by preparing full estimates on projects assigned as required by client documents. You will be expected to support the Estimating Department by obtaining vendor quotes, maintaining project data, and other related tasks.
The essential functions and responsibilities are as follows, but are not limited to:
· Evaluate bid calendar and ensure timely completion of estimates.
· Create and manage job folders for each project on their list.
· Review documents and understand scope of work to bid.
· Obtain pricing for materials.
· Assist with hand offs to operations team.
· Assist with contract reviews.
· Assist and collaborate with Preconstruction Team.
· Attend client relations and business development events.
· Support and assist projects assigned to the Preconstruction Team.
· Study and understand contract specifications, drawings, and associated scope of work requirements of each project before the project begins and during construction operations.
· Prepare material quantity take offs and estimates.
· Communicate and coordinate with other contractors, suppliers, project management staff, and outside agencies.
· Ensure that estimates are complete in a timely manner to allow adequate time to review.
· Prepare RFI’s to be reviewed by Lead Estimator prior to sending.
· Understand changes in scope of work released in addenda’s, bid bulletins, etc.
· Update pricing as needed until contract is received and project is handed off to Project Manager.
· Assist Project Manager in pricing requests as needed by Project Manager.
· Draft Proposal
· Prepare Quick Bid with general conditions and mark up.
Other Duties:
· Attend Estimating Meetings as scheduled.
· Attend seminars/educational training programs as required.
· Perform any other related or unrelated, unassigned, unspecified duty that may be needed from time to time.
· Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time, with or without notice.
Requirements:
· 4-year college degree in Building Construction or similar degree or one year-year related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 1 year estimating experience.
· Computer skills in Bluebeam, OST/Quick Bid, and other related programs.
· Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications.
· Strong communications skills.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and with minimal structure while utilizing great judgment.
Working Conditions:
· This person will work in a temperature-controlled environment. Travel may be required from time to time.
