Systems Administrator - Malta, Barcelona or Remote Working

On behalf of our client, iBizpeople is looking for a talented Systems Administrator to join a highly ambitious media company, working in either Malta, Barcelona or on a Remote basis. The System Administrator will provide support, maintain and administer the Information Technology system. You will be responsible for the delivery of server infrastructure and associated services. The ideal candidate is a forward thinking professional - always striving to find innovative solutions to complex problems while collaborating with cross functional teams.

 

Responsibilities

  • Optimise system infrastructure.
  • Ensure we have suitable monitoring of systems.
  • Monitor and react to problems with short notice.
  • Cost control and budgeting for system infrastructure.
  • Document infrastructure and services
  • Assisting in support and daily running of internal IT, making it your own and continuously improving it.
  • On-boarding of new colleagues
  • Develop automation and integration solutions and maintain the same.
  • Working towards automating day to day tasks and maintaining up-to-date technical documentation.
  • On occasions, the position may include travel to other offices to offer hands-on support.

Must have experience:

  • Ubuntu/Debian servers.
  • Nginx, Mysql, PHP, Git.
  • DNS.
  • Bash scripting.
  • System health monitoring and maintenance.
  • Website backup and recovery.

Nice to haves:

  • Wordpress hosting knowledge.
  • Server and service documentation.
  • Security administration.
  • Automation.
  • Docker.

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of experience as a system and network administrator, including automation and orchestration of Mac & Windows.
  • Experienced with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office 365
  • Good and logic approach to troubleshooting.
  • Strong team player skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
  • Keen on efficiency and taking performance & scalability seriously.
  • Be comfortable working in cross-departmental projects & project teams.
  • Taking ownership, taking initiative, high availability.
  • Strong communication skills - must be able to speak and write fluently in the English language. 
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment with high expectations and open doors.
