As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Tissue Culture Laboratory Technician to join our team. 

This is an ideal position for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and genuine interest in the cannabis industry. The candidate must possess a positive attitude, willingness to take on news responsibilities as necessary and the ability to follow strict regulatory guidelines and SOPs. This opportunity calls out for a unique skillset and while not a requirement, some laboratory experience and interest in plant propagation are a plus. We’re happy to train the right candidate. 

Job Description

As a Tissue Culture Lab Technician, you’ll be responsible for processing plant material with sterile technique and attention to detail, while maintaining accurate record keeping and a clean work environment. For this role, we're looking for one part-time candidate and one full-time candidate. 

Compensation: $18/hour

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform tissue culture procedures to propagate cannabis plants, ensuring high-quality

and pathogen-free plantlets.

  • Maintain inventory of plants as they are processed.

  • Clean glassware, mop floors and wipe down surfaces in order to maintain a sterile environment.

  • Other general laboratory duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Must be +21, able to obtain required state cannabis employee ID at time of hire and submit personal information for background check and fingerprinting.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must follow instructions and possess the ability to work independently, while practicing good hygiene and maintaining a clean environment at all times.

  • Must be conscientious and have strong attention to detail.

  • Sitting for long periods of time while performing repetitive and tedious tasks.

  • Strong eye and manual dexterity to work with multiple strains and maintain their separation.

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to use fine instruments with repetition for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs and to load/unload autoclave (some personal twisting while lifting is required).

 

Note: Work environment may include exposure to dust, fumes, odors, heights, heat, humidity and noise, uneven surfaces, standing/sitting for long periods of time, bending/stooping, or hard surfaces. There is also the requirement to wear PPE and work during inclement weather (we are an indoor facility).
