We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Packaging Lead to manage all aspects of our cannabis packaging operations, including but not limited to: pre-roll manufacturing, shake and flower. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the packaging room, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining product quality, and optimizing production outputs and efficiencies. As a leader, you will guide a dynamic production team, fostering collaboration and ensuring attention to detail at every step. You will work closely with team members to ensure products are accurately packaged, inventory is meticulously tracked, and the entire packaging process aligns with both company policies and state regulations.

Compensation: $40k~50k per year 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Post-Harvest Managers with daily operations and the opening/closing of the packaging room.

  • Lead, supervise, and train the packaging team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operational procedures, and quality standards.

  • Oversee pre-roll and flower manufacturing, coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless production and flow of finished goods to fulfillment.

  • Inspect products during and after packaging to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with state regulations.

  • Continuously assess and optimize packaging processes to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.

  • Manage inventory of packaging materials and cannabis products, ensuring accurate labeling and compliance with legal requirements.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machinery, packaging, or personnel to minimize production delays.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company sanitation requirements.

  • Provide training on manufacturing techniques, safety protocols, and compliance procedures, identifying opportunities for skill development within the team.

  • Collaborate with management on process improvements, equipment upgrades, and workflow optimizations.

  • Be flexible to work evenings, nights, or weekends as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in cannabis packaging, manufacturing, or similar roles, with prior supervisory or lead experience highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of New Jersey cannabis laws, packaging requirements, and compliance procedures.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining quality standards and accuracy in labeling and packaging.

  • General knowledge of weights and measurements.

  • Ability to stand, lift, and move throughout the day in a fast-paced environment while handling and packaging products.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

  • Clear and effective communication skills for collaborating with staff, management, and cross-functional teams.

  • Comfortable with using basic computer programs and inventory management systems, with familiarity in inventory tracking and quality assurance systems.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a willingness to work weekends, extended shifts, or evenings as needed.

 

Note: Work environment may include exposure to dust, fumes, odors, heights, heat, humidity and noise, uneven surfaces, stand/sit long periods of time, bending/stooping, or hard surfaces. There is also the requirement to wear PPE and work during inclement weather (we are an indoor facility).
