Key Responsibilities

  • Hands on role in ensuring all that the whole bookeeping function is done timely, effectively and efficiently such as bank and general ledger reconciliations, billing of clients and collection of accounts receivables, review of supplier invoices and payment of accounts payables;
  • Build strong relationships with management team to understand their strategic goals and provide financial insights and guidance to support decision-making;
  • Ensure that the company's accounting policies and procedures are in compliance with the applicable accounting standards and regulations;
  • Collaborate with business teams to develop key performance indicators, track progress, and provide regular updates to the leadership team;
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports and presentations to provide insights into business performance and support decision-making;
  • Review, prepare and process the fortnightly payroll and staff reimbursements;
  • Management and timely reconciliation of Clients funds held 
  • Preparation and lodgement of monthly BAS,IAS, Payroll tax, workcover and other statutory requirements
  • Perform other tasks or projects as necessary or required by the role

Experience and Qualification:

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance
  • Experience with Xero Accounting Software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills; advanced Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting, together with the commercial acumen to apply these practically in a growing environment
  • Must be able to display a practical application of this knowledge in bringing control and process improvement to the processes that are fundamental to the effective operation of the finance function within the business
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and conceptual skills and demonstrated experience in implementing change, including in financial policies, procedures and processes, across the whole organisation

Desirable:

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Financial accounting background, preferably in NDIS Community Health Care
