Job Brief:
Gallop Vessel Fabrication is looking for Vessel Fitter's to perform assembly tasks and operate machinery. You will be responsible for fabricating, installing, maintaining components, instruments, tools, and other equipment. You will be working in a fast-paced environment that requires a level of training and standards of excellence. We expect the ability to perform complex, strigent task, and achieve great results. Team players will help us meet our objectives as we strive to improve overall efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to interrupt schematics and diagrams
- Operate torch
- Read blue print
- Layout of vessels
- Knowledge of tray downcomer, plate tray rings, fit shell cams
- Cleaning welds and weld areas.
- Fit up nozzles & couplings according to the outside projections and angle.
- Layout & cut baffle plates, openings to fit nozzle & couplings to head based on drawing specifications.
- Proficient in basic math Read and follow weld procedures, QC plans, and other work instruction documents.
- Uses overhead cranes, jib cranes and other lifting/rigging devices to move components in a safe manner is a plus.
- Understanding of tolerances.
- Must be able to create a lay-out on a vessel.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Safely operates all shop equipment.
- Ability to follow oral directions.
Skills Required:
Education and/or Experience
- 1+ years of proven experience of current fabrication shop experience.
- High school diploma/GED
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Required to sit and climb or balance.
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
