The Role

We are seeking an executive level, well-rounded, entrepreneurial data scientist to join our consulting firm as Chief Data Scientist. This role is perfect for someone who wants to serve as a partner to the CEO in driving the vision, innovation, and success of the company. The Chief Data Scientist will oversee the Data Science team and client base, contribute to the R&D of analytic products, be the subject matter expert for sales opportunities, and serve as part of the core management team of the company. 

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

  • 10+ years of data science experience with progressive responsibility

  • Experience will be across a range of industries - experience in healthcare is a plus

  • A background of leading complex analytical projects

  • Willingness to develop and grow relationships with clients, and to help them frame and solve business problems

  • Strong business acumen that will enable strategic and actionable business recommendations 

  • Strong critical thinking, a technical mindset, and attention to detail

  • Eagerness and aptitude to grow, develop, and be responsible for the data science team

  • An entrepreneurial spirit and drive to meaningfully impact the success of a small business and its employees

Technical requirements include:

  • Proficiency with Python, R, SQL

  • Deep experience and interest in statistical analysis and machine learning methodologies such as vector machines, neural networks, feature engineering, etc. 

  • Experience in designing and applying models using a variety of analytical tools, such as for random forest, logistic regression, hierarchical Bayesian models, matched case control and other quasi-experimental methods, NLP, etc. 

  • Experience creating and automating applications for quantifying data to aid in business processes

  • Experience data visualization software/packages - Tableau, Superset, R-Shiny, DashPlotly

  • Master’s or PhD in Mathematics/Statistics/Machine Learning/Data Science/Computer Science
