Flip is a complex social platform developed at a great scale with service-oriented architecture. 

We’ve created a code ecosystem with over 130 auto-scalable microservices behind the API gateway integrated with a unified logging layer and common monitoring. 

We have more than 130 microservices which we have created in accordance with microservices best practices. Those homogeneous Node.js microservices rely on the Nest framework. Such an approach allows us to build a microservice that is production-ready in 15 minutes. 

What is more, we use HA/HPA systems which are scalable depending on the user traffic. When it comes to databases, our go-to solutions are MongoDB, Scylla, TimeScaleDB and PostgreSQL.

Your roles and responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing Data Warehouse and Data Lakes with Snowflake and AWS
  • Ensuring and constantly checking data integrity across distributed system
  • Working with Kafka-based EventStore and DataLakes
  • Working with TimeSeries data with TimeScaleDB 
  • Improving data structures
  • Being dedicated and engaged
  • Working remotely full-time

What we need from you:

  • Experience with managing data across distributed service-oriented system, where every subsystem is an owner of the data
  • Great knowledge of data design, data validationdenormalizing data
  • Experience with Kafka ecosystem and designing ETL using Kafka
  • Good knowledge of Mongo, Cassandra, Postgres (yes, we use them all!)
  • Good knowledge of TimeSeries data
  • Ability to read & write code in TypeScript
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes in software development  
  • Experience with ELK stack
  • Strong skills in Linux and other open-source software
