Required skills & experience (the 5 “must haves” to be considered)
1. Must be certified as a Peer Recovery Specialist.
2. Background working in maternal/substance use populations
3. Familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare/Commercial Insurance practices
4. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
5. Self-Starter mentality. Peer Recovery Specialist will be in charge of creating their own weekly schedule with their clients.
6. Only female candidates can be considered at this time due to the patients being primarily pregnant women.

What you need to know
• Peer Advocates serve as a role-model for individuals facing substance exposed living and are in varying phases of recovery.
• Identifies individual client needs and documents intervention based on relationship and assessment.
• Provides support to clients through variety of settings and assists with support groups, as needed.
• Contributes to case conferences to ensure team approach is delivered for each client.
• Completes documentation for client contacts, touches, cancellations and care plan based on company policies.
