Design Match is looking for incredible industrial designers for client projects on the Design Match platform.
We accept both mid-level and senior designers. Many projects are from scratch, working with inventors and agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and identify product and market trends and customer needs to develop innovative and creative designs.
Create and improve a product's design, layout, and features, considering factors such as aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, production costs, and product development timelines.
Sketch out ideas or create renderings, often using computer-aided design (CAD), to illustrate the design concept.
Create prototypes or models of the design using various materials and techniques.
Work closely with engineers, model makers, sales teams, and manufacturers to ensure the design is feasible and cost-effectively manufactured.
Present designs to clients, stakeholders, or team members and modify designs based on feedback received.
Perform usability testing and make necessary modifications to enhance user experience.
Coordinate with manufacturing or development teams to ensure design implementation during the production stage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in industrial design with a strong portfolio of previous work.
Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Rhino.
Strong knowledge of product manufacturing processes and techniques.
Ability to visualize concepts through sketching and physical prototyping.
Excellent creativity and problem-solving skills.
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Strong verbal and visual communication skills, including the ability to present design concepts to various stakeholders.
Knowledge of human factors and ergonomics to design products that are functional and comfortable to use.
