Location: Del Mar, San Diego, CA
Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
Salary Rate: Negotiable based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for dental treatments, take dental X-rays, and maintain patient records and charts on the computer.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols, maintain a clean and sterile environment, and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Instrument Maintenance: Clean, sterilize, and organize dental instruments, as well as order and maintain dental supplies.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care guidelines.
- Administrative Tasks: assist with front office duties as needed.
Skills Required:
- Dental Assisting Certification: Must be a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or have completed a Dental Assistant program
- Infection Control Knowledge: Familiarity with infection control practices and OSHA regulations and have met CA required training hours.
- Dental Software Proficiency: Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., CurveDental) is a plus.
- Patient-Centric Approach: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with patients.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to keep treatment areas and instruments organized.
- Team Player: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work cohesively within a dental team.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- CPR Certification: Current CPR certification is needed.
- X-ray Certification
- Cosmetic and implant dentistry knowledge is a plus.
- Digital dentistry knowledge is a plus.
