Job Title: Dental Assistant

Job Brief:

Join our Del Mar, California dental practice as a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant or Dental Assistant. As a key team member, you'll contribute to exceptional patient care and ensure the smooth operation of our dental office. Responsibilities:

  • Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort.

  • Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for dental treatments, take dental X-rays, and maintain patient records and charts on the computer.

  • Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols, maintain a clean and sterile environment, and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Instrument Maintenance: Clean, sterilize, and organize dental instruments, as well as order and maintain dental supplies.

  • Patient Education: Provide patients with oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care guidelines.

  • Administrative Tasks: assist with front office duties as needed.

 

Skills Required:

  • Dental Assisting Certification: Must be a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or have completed a Dental Assistant program.

  • X-ray Certification: Possess X-ray certification.

  • Cosmetic and implant dentistry knowledge is a plus.

  • Digital dentistry knowledge is a plus.

  • Infection Control Knowledge: Familiarity with infection control practices and OSHA regulations and have met CA required training hours.

  • Dental Software Proficiency: Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., CurveHero) is a plus. 

  • Patient-Centric Approach: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with patients.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to keep treatment areas and instruments organized.

  • Team Player: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work cohesively within a dental team.

  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. 

  • CPR Certification: Current CPR certification is needed.
