About us:
Civil Agents is a social impact creative agency focused on waste reduction. You will be creating content for Recycle by City and our municipal partners.

Your role:
Producing engaging, informative, and well-researched content around recycling, reuse, and other sustainability-related topics. We applaud communications that are super useful, skimmable, and contain a strong visual and/or interactive component. You'll be creating content primarily for the recyclebycity.com website. 

Required:

• First-hand knowledge or a strong curiosity about waste reduction, recycling, and/or sustainable living 
• Ability to take complex information and transform it into clear, concise, well-organized content
• Digital-friendly writing style. We're big fans of Ann Handley and Andy Crestodina 
• Strong visual communication skills. You'll be asked to propose thoughtful visuals for each post you write. Bonus points if you can create them too.
• Ability to construct quick outlines and ugly first drafts
• A panache for writing click-worthy titles that deliver what they promise 
• Precise fact-checking and accreditation skills 
• Experience with SEO best practices
• Ability to hit deadlines without supervision

Preferred:  

• Marketing or journalism background / experience 
• Good design eye and the ability to produce original visuals (without Canva etc.) to accompany your posts
• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Suite  

Employment Details: 
This is a remote, hourly, contract position. You will be assigned one or two articles per week. We estimate full-length articles will take 6 -10 hours to complete, including visuals. You may also be assigned shorter writing tasks such as updating or customizing previously written content or writing content for other client projects. 

• Estimated hours: 12-20 per week 
• Rate: $22.50 p/h to start
