About Celebrity Green Stars
We are a social enterprise with an incredible program to clean up the planet from waste and regenerate the environment. The program is called Trash2Cash (trash3cash.education) and has already been implemented in Nepal on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Along the Ganges with incredible success. We show people how they can convert their plastics they currently throw away as waste in to valuable and useful products which can be used within the communities to save money, or sold on the market to make money. Great examples are turning plastic bags, packaging and wraps in to earthquake-resistant bricks, or plastic aluminium laminates in to plastics for other products and aluminium for aluminium parts. We can even turn cigarette filters in to sunglasses or diapers in to electricity.
Our network is over 200 people strong and growing. Comprised of engineers, pioneers and scientists. Youth activists, university, scouts, communities, mothers, school children, businesses, NGOs experts working diligently to tackle pressing social and environmental issues. We have one core focus and that is we want to make the world a better place for all living beings.
We aim to reach every NGO, Business, Philanthropist, Youth s, Youth Volunteer, Digital Nomad and offer them these solutions as the solution sweeping the planet so that we 1- stop anymore pollution from waste being thrown and 2- Benefit families with an opportunity in developing nations to alleviate poverty and suffering
This role plays a key part in that journey by growing our membership and online community, as well as promoting ‘how to’ support to convert trash2cash sustainably
You would be able to contribute by:
▪ Encouraging participation in Green Stars Trash2Cash programs through social media (primarily facebook) and other media.
▪ Liaising with our community across social media, website, phone and email about promotion of technologies and services
▪ Assisting with organising events, and attending when possible, recording video and photos for posting on facebook along with updates as the activity progresses.
▪ Producing social media content and calendars, ensuring timely and relevant posts
▪ Writing regular email newsletters and updates to members and friends.
THE PERSON
▪ A confident speaker and enjoys talking to new people
▪ A passion for connecting with people using social media
▪ Enjoys helping others
▪ Understands the importance of, and works cooperatively in a team environment
▪ Delegate and oversee relevant work when assisted by other volunteers.
▪ Experience with social media communication
▪ Experience with organising and planning events is desirable
▪ Project and communication planning ability
▪ Empathy with members, other volunteers, and people with social welfare concerns.
