Job Brief:
This role is a client-facing business development role, where you will be expected to call potential clients to get Carnegie Oceanic signed up as a vendor. Carnegie Oceanic is already a vendor with a number of major firms - You will be responsible for second-level calling where an existing client or potential client has already had an initial outreach and has requested for a second meeting with our technical team.
Your daily responsibilities will include identifying and researching potential Ship management companies/clients, calling their vendor management departments, and requesting for meetings to have Carnegie Oceanic become an approved vendor of spare parts for their vessels.
Additionally, you will be ensuring customer satisfaction by frequently connecting with them over a phone call to provide them with information related to their orders or invoices, and updating them on the latest offers we have related to their ships and spares they can leverage.
We mainly serve North American and European clients, therefore fluent, professional-level English is a MUST. Please do not apply if you do not fulfill this requirement.
Responsibilities:
- Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails
- Present our company to potential clients
- Manage existing clients through conference calls with the team, and via frequent email outreaches
- Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
Skills Required:
Required skills:
- Native English or bilingual equivalent required, please only apply with your CV and cover letter in English!
- Comfort in calling North American (US, Canada) and European customers and potential customers
- Ability to work in Medellin-based office
- Creativity and a ‘can do’ attitude
- Research and problem-solving skills
Nice to have skills:
- Previous experience in the shipping industry (Ship management firms, Oil and gas shipping firms, logistics firms)
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
- Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
