All paralegals in our office handle cases from start to finish. Paralegals are able to focus on the client and high-level items and have support staff opening claims, equating and obtaining police reports, ordering and receiving medical records, getting reductions from lien holders, drafting demands and more. The case load for this trial paralegal role is anticipated to be about 25-35 case files.
Once trained, remote work can be arranged but candidate must live in Arizona.
Job Responsibilities:
· Have 5–10 years experience in litigation for Plaintiffs personal injury claims.
· Have experience with serious injuries and settlements above $500k
· Have experience with notice of claims, premise, negligence, road designs, trucking claims and complex litigation matters
· Have experience drafting for review answers to interrogatories, calendaring court entries, understanding of offer of judgments, answering admissions and other legal documents.
· Prepare pleadings including subpoenas, complaints, answers, notice of depositions, motions to continue, motions to compel, motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, agreed orders, notice of dismissals and other miscellaneous pleadings.
· Maintain calendars and oversee the scheduling of hearings, depositions, mediations, inspections and any other meetings or deadlines.
· Obtain all relevant billing statements and subrogation logs.
· Obtain and review medical records and prepare medical summaries.
· Assist in trial preparation, including scheduling witnesses, identification of trial exhibits, preparation of trial binders and implementation of digital trial presentation.
· Review deposition transcripts and prepare deposition summaries.
· Prepare and review all discovery, including drafting discovery and answering Interrogatories and Requests for Production of Documents.
· Perform research to investigate plaintiff, co-defendants, potential third parties, providers, fact/expert witnesses and product information.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Demonstrated 7+ yrs Personal Injury litigation paralegal experience.
· Personal injury trial experience with settlements above $500k
· Experience with Case Management Software “Needles” is highly desired.
· Pre-lit and lit experience
· Great communication skills
· Can-do, roll-up the sleeves attitude - no job is too big or too small to take on
· Boundless reserve of energy and self-motivation
· Collaborative and patient team member
· Technically inclined and enjoys learning new systems.
