Job Brief:

Beer Tree Brew is seeking a full-time Craft Beer Sales Representative with knowlege of the industry to join our expanding team. Sales territory includes the Capital Region, Hudson Valley, and Catskill Park. We have built and developed an extensive self distribution program across NYS to provide craft beer connoisseurs with Beer Tree craft beverages. Beer Tree can be found in many states nation wide, as well as internationally in Europe, Asia, and Australia. Since our inception in 2017, we have built a dedicated team that believes in the power of craft beer to foster human connection, promote community, and generate creativity. We are a family owned and operated microbrewery with three locations in Broome County, NY: Johnson City, Port Crane, and Downtown Binghamton.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self-disciplined individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The candidates’ mission is to grow the Beer Tree Brew brand, create new relationships within our current market, and seek new market opportunities within the following counties: Warren, Fulton, Saratoga, Washington, Montgomery, Schenectady, Schoharie, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, and Orange. The Sales Representative will report directly to the Director of Sales while collaborating on building distribution relationships, creating sales execution plans, and initiating new business. 

The ideal candidate resides within the sales territory or is willing to relocate to the sales territory. This is primarily a "remote" position in the sense that you will not be required to report into one of the physical Beer Tree locations daily. Bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly in person training and planning will be required. Initial in-person training at the brewery will also be required upon hire. Accomodations will be provided during initial new hire in-person training if required.

Compensation structure is salary + commission. Base salary range is $30,000 - $35,000 with commission paid out monthly as a percentage of territory revenue. A personal vehicle is required. Mileage/fuel will be reimbursed based on IRS Standard Mileage Rates.


Job Responsibilities:

-Maintain and develop relationships with key customer accounts.

-Make daily sales visits to accounts.

-Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow the assigned territory.

-Develop detailed knowledge regarding Beer Tree Brew’s mission and the brands we produce.

-Handle customer inquiries and effectively resolve any issues that may arise.

-Manage and maintain invoice creation and inventory tracking. 

-Assist in building delivery schedules and route planning for territory. 

 

Job Requirements

-Working promotional events and festivals within territory and willingness to travel to events and festivals outside of territory

-Valid Driver’s License and good driving record 

-Reliable personal vehicle

-Ability to handle and maneuver 30lb cases and 165lb kegs

-Ability to travel

-A flexible schedule is a must. Night and weekend work as needed.


Skills Required: 

-Prior sales experience required with prior craft beer industry sales experience preferred.

-Excellent communication skills and ability to create and maintain relationships.

-Strong organizational skills.

-Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task.

-Thorough knowledge of the craft beer industry and emerging trends.
