Roles and Responsibilities

APSCo is seeking to hire a Communications Manager who will play a key role in delivering APSCo communications strategy.

As senior-level communication and stakeholder engagement professional, you will have experience of balancing strategy and providing hands-on operational support to a small high-performing team, reporting directly to the head of marketing and communications.

Your duties and responsibilities which will span across corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, strategic communications & supporting the delivery of programmes & campaigns, will include:

• Developing and delivering a communications and PR strategy with the Head of Communications

• Support the work communicating and building the profile of APSCo.

• Manage the brand identity of APSCo Global

• Manage APSCo-owned digital channels, writing content and producing quality content for websites, printed documents, reports, social media and all other marketing channels.

• Ensure staff and key stakeholders remain informed and engaged in all aspects of campaigns and activities

• Support the delivery of events and engagements through the delivery of communications plans.

• Translate campaigns and activities across multiple digital platforms, drafting social media posts and commissioning engaging content

• Responsibility for growing APSCo’s reach and impact through the positive promotion to external audiences

• Managing and working alongside external PR company engagement with press and media enquiries and press releases

• Supporting our membership through effective internal communications

• Deliver a range of digital content which supports our strategy

 

What we are looking for

· Minimum 4 years’ experience in a communications-related role

· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, strategic communications, or equivalent

· Demonstrated experience with all types of social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

· Strong writing skills for both online and offline content

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and web content management systems experience

· Experience in managing key stakeholders both external and internal

· Strong, versatile copywriting skills

· Good organisational, planning, and coordination skills

· Ability to multi-task and re-prioritise as needed

· Desire to take full ownership of assigned projects and can work independently

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Possesses a sense of urgency; is self-motivated and detail-minded

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships

· Good verbal presentation, group dynamic, and facilitation skills

· Proactive approach to resolving problems and issues

· Experience (not essential) in the recruitment industry

· Experience in managing external agencies

The salary range is £40,000- £45,000 per annum, depending on experience

This is a full-time ( 37 hours per week) permanent position.

Working hours

The core hours are 37 hours per week to be worked over five days. There will also be the occasional requirement to work outside normal working hours, for which you will be entitled to time off in lieu.

Probationary period

The post will be subject to a probationary period of six months

Holiday entitlement

25 days starting holidays up to 30 days (1 extra day per year), with additional Christmas leave at the discretion of the employer.
