Position: Metal Fabricator 
Location: 7 Airds Rd, Minto NSW 2566, Australia
Job type: Full-time, onsite / 38 hours per week Monday to Friday
Salary range: AUD75,000 - 90,000 annual salary + superannuation

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Metal Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components to meet our high-quality standards. You will work closely with our team to interpret blueprints, operate welding equipment, and ensure precision in every project.

As a Metal Fabricator, you will report directly to the factory supervisor collaborating to maintain safety standards, optimize production efficiency, and contribute to the successful completion of various projects.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Metal Fabricator and the responsibilities will be:

• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
• Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding

Skills Required:

The requirements of the candidate are as follows

• Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Welding) (At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification)
• Demonstrated proficiency in various welding techniques
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to inspect and test welds for strength and quality.
• Experience with metal fabrication, cutting, and grinding tools.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to industry regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
